Name: Amber
Age: 20
Course: BA (Hons) English and Multimedia Journalism
Why did you choose to study at Manchester Met?
“I chose to study at Manchester Metropolitan University because I had an interest in English and also the media. This course gave me the opportunity to study and explore both subjects, unlike many others. I get the opportunity to read and write about books from different periods which is honestly something I’ve enjoyed throughout school but I also get to write articles, giving me experience and knowledge for my future career. I’m lucky to be able to do both of the things I enjoy on one course!”
What’s your favourite thing about being a student here?
“My favourite thing about being a student at Manchester Metropolitan is definitely the opportunities. As a journalist, being in such an interesting city gives me a lot of inspiration for work, especially when writing blog posts or articles. There’s always so much to do and so many new things to try that you can’t get bored. Everything you need is just around the corner and I honestly don’t think I’d have chosen anywhere else to study.”

Why did you choose to study at Manchester Met?
“I chose to study at Manchester Metropolitan primarily due to its hands-on teaching method – my course offers practical techniques in which we are able to utilise cutting-edge technologies and methods current in this field. Another deciding factor was the vast expertise my course lecturers demonstrated, so I knew I was going to receive a comprehensive education in just a yearlong course at this university. Not to mention, Manchester is a great city! So far, none of these factors have let me down” 🙂
What’s your favourite thing about being a student here?
“My favourite part about being a student here is the support I receive from the University, in pretty much every department. The library, study skills, and departmental support is incredible if you, quite like myself, are someone who feels there’s always a question bubbling on the surface. The University even offers free workout classes throughout the day EVERY DAY of the week, so the University really supports students in every aspect!”
